Universal contribution to Bosnian-Herzegovinian graphic art

In the gifted generation of Bosnian-Herzegovinian artists who shaped and established Bosnian-Herzegovinian graphic art in half a century of its flourishing, growth and improvement were: Dževad Hozo, Halil Tikveša, Mersad Berber, Virgilije Nevjestić, Emir Dragulj, Borislav Aleksić, Memnuna Vila-Bogdanić, Radovan Kragulj, Safet Zec, Ivica Šiško, Salim Obralić, Tomislav Dugonjić, Enes Mundžić and many others.  They confirmed that Bosnian-Herzegovinian graphic art does not fall behind, on the contrary, stands besides the best on the European art scene. They are the carriers of the rich Bosnian-Herzegovinian graphic art platform, from which many generations of today’s recognised graphic artists and professors have grown.

Therefore, it is not surprising that for the accompanying programme of the 1th International Triennial of Graphic Arts Livno is chosen the exhibition of one of the eminent Bosnian-Herzegovinian graphic masters.

Dževad Hozo – a distinctive graphic artist, writer, aesthete, academician, and teacher, who thaught generations and generations of graphic artists, a man with 50 years of tireless creative work, seemed the best possible choice for the accompanying exhibition of the 1st International Triennial of Graphic Arts Livno. He is the example of a man of great talent, who with a lifelong engagement and dedicated work and love towards graphic art and his students, gave his monument to graphic art.

The works from the following cycles of Hozo’s rich opus will be exhibited: From Mak’s portfolio, the cycle Confrontations, the cycle Sarajevo passions (Hommage to Mak Dizdar) and from the cycle the author has been working on during the last few years, Autobiograhics – Virtual concerts by Dževad Hozo.
