Povodom obilježavanja 80 godina djelovanja Umjetničke galerije Bosne i Hercegovine, publici će biti predstavljena izložba “Prisustvo” istaknutog bosanskohercegovačkih umjetnika, Edina Numankadića.
Izložba donosi izbor radova nastalih tokom više od pet decenija umjetničkog djelovanja, od ranih slikarskih ostvarenja iz sedamdesetih godina do recentnih radova, pružajući uvid u kontinuitet i razvoj izuzetno prepoznatljivog autorskog rukopisa. Numankadićev opus obilježen je stalnim istraživanjem granica slikarskog medija, ali i dosljednom posvećenošću temama sjećanja, vremena i postojanja.
Naziv izložbe “Prisustvo” upućuje na trajnost umjetničkog čina i umjetnikovu sposobnost da kroz različite faze stvaralaštva sačuva snažnu vezu između vlastitog života i umjetnosti. Kroz slike, asemblaže i instalacije, djela nastala u različitim periodima, izložba svjedoči o umjetniku koji je svojim radom obilježio savremenu likovnu scenu Bosne i Hercegovine i ostao njen aktivni sudionik više od pola stoljeća.
“Prisustvo” nije retrospektiva u klasičnom smislu, već susret s djelom koje i danas nastaje. Izložba istovremeno predstavlja hommage bogatom stvaralačkom putu Edina Numankadića i doprinos obilježavanju jubileja Umjetničke galerije Bosne i Hercegovine.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the exhibition Presence by the distinguished Bosnian and Herzegovinian artist Edin Numankadić will be presented to the public.
The exhibition brings together a selection of works created over more than five decades of artistic practice, ranging from early paintings of the 1970s to recent works, offering insight into the continuity and evolution of a highly distinctive artistic language. Numankadić’s oeuvre is marked by a persistent exploration of the possibilities and boundaries of the pictorial medium, as well as a sustained engagement with themes of memory, time, and existence.
The title of the exhibition, Presence, points to the enduring nature of the artistic act and the artist’s ability to maintain a strong connection between life and art throughout different phases of his creative journey. Through paintings, assemblages, and installations produced across various periods, the exhibition bears witness to an artist whose work has left a significant mark on the contemporary visual arts scene of Bosnia and Herzegovina and who has remained an active participant in it for more than half a century.
Presence is not a retrospective in the conventional sense, but rather an encounter with a body of work that continues to evolve. At the same time, the exhibition serves as a tribute to Edin Numankadić’s rich artistic trajectory and as a contribution to the celebration of the National Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s anniversary.
