KANTARDŽIĆ Narcis

(Derventa, Bosnia and Herzegovina, 1958)

He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo in 1982. He is one of the founders of the group Zvono, and in 1984 he became a member of the Association of Visual Artists of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ULUBiH).

Kantardžić’s painting is characterized by distant landscapes and views of isolated, vertical structures. These compositions emphasize the lack of human figures, and even there, where the figure is present (Landscape, 1986), it is more a symbol of loneliness rather than a true presence.
