OBADIA Dominique

(Paris, France,  1946)

He studied at the Académie Charpentier in Paris. He achieved remarkable success in many fields of artistic creativity. He started his artistic career as a sculptor, worked in design and set design. In recent years, he focuses his artistic energy on a series of paintings in the combined technique he calls “tressages” (French: tresse-braid).

“In his tressages Dominique deconstructs and reconstructs familiar objects into new creations that surprise and enchant the eye and the mind. Dominique’s tressages evoke a complexity of emotions, sensations and images. Some suggest imprisonment and liberation and others decay and regeneration. “
