Antunac Grga

(Šibenik, 1906 – Zagreb, 1970)

After graduating from primary school, he worked at the Electrical Power Station in Šibenik, but his pronounced gift for drawing and design would soon lead him to the Crafts School in Split, where he enrolled in the Sculpture Department. He studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb (1926-30) and at master class under Ivan Meštrović (1930 – 32). He stayed in Paris for some time and visited galleries (1932/1933). After returning he worked for Meštrović in Split. He worked in the studio of Antun Augustinčić in Zagreb (1937 – 41) and as a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. He was a member of the Association of Fine Artists of Croatia (ULUH) from its inception.
