Tone Kralj
A painter, graphic artist and sculptor, he studied in Prague from 1920 to 1923, then continued his training in Vienna, Paris, Venice and Rome. He is one of the founders of Klub mladih (the Youth Club) (1922). He worked closely with his brother France (1895 – 1960) until 1927. Both are considered to be pioneers of Expressionism in Slovenia. Later he developed in the direction of monumental realism. He also worked on painting churches, especially in the Slovene Littoral. Since 1974, there is a permanent collection of his works at the Božidar Jakac Gallery in Kostanjevica na Krki.
