Jerolim Miše
He completed the gymnasium in Split in 1908, after which he attended the Building, Crafts and Arts School. From 1910, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. He continued his studies in Rome (1911-13) and in Florence in 1913/14, and after that he returned to Split. He worked as a drawing teacher at a gymnasium in Krapina, in Brod na Savi, from 1923 in Zagreb at the Crafts School, and at the Women’s Gymnasium from 1925. Miše taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade from 1938 and at the Zagreb Academy from 1943. He published reviews and articles about the art life in the country between the two wars. Member of the Yugoslav Academy of Sciences and Arts (JAZU) since 1952. He received the “Vladimir Nazor” Award for Lifetime Achievement in 1969.
