Ivo Režek
Prior to his military draft, he briefly studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb (1915/16). He left for Prague in 1918, where he continued his studies. He specialized in fresco-painting in Paris in 1928 (under Marcel Lenoir). A painter, draftsman and caricaturist, he painted the motifs of his native Zagorje, life of peasants, portraits, and still lifes. Režek worked as a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb (1947 – 1968). He illustrated books. The collection of his works is part of the Varaždin City Museum.
