Rajka Merćep (1904-1963) entered the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 1927/28, and in the following year she moved to Paris. She exhibited her works in some of the most important salons of Paris: L’Art français indépendant, Salon des Tuileries, Salon des Echanges. Rajka was a member of the Salon d’Automne, and a honorary member of the Salon des femmes peintres et sculpteurs from 1944.⁠
