Milivoje Unković

(Nevesinje, B&H, 1944)

He graduated in 1966 from the School of Applied Arts in Sarajevo, and in 1971 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade, where he also completed his postgraduate studies in 1974. He was appointed assistant professor at the Department of Painting in 1975, promoted to associate professor in 1980 and full professor in 1987. From 1980, he was the head of the postgraduate master class. In 1992 he left Sarajevo and moved to Germany, where he lived and worked as a freelance artist until 2010. He now lives and works in Banja Luka. His work won numerous awards and prizes, including the Sarajevo Liberation Day Memorial Award (1981).
