Museum in Exile
September 6 – 22, 2018
MUSEUM IN EXILE is a platform focused on the promotion of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian design in the modern era, more precisely from the time of the Austro-Hungarian administration to date. The idea itself was born in 2009. Since then, the author has managed to create a collection – the core of the collection that now has over 3,000 exhibits; publish a book entitled Museum in Exile – Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Modern Age (in Bosnian and in English), which presents all the most important segments of the collection, and organize several exhibitions in Sarajevo, Bugojno and Kranj (Slovenia).
In cooperation with the Regional Museum from Travnik, he prepared and published the book Drawing in Bosnian-Herzegovinian Design – Bosnian edition; and an electronic edition of the book in English published by the Buybook publishing house in Sarajevo in 2017.
This book provides an overview of the authors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as authors from abroad who worked on projects that came from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The time period that this selection follows is ranging from 1900 (Pavilion of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the World Exhibition in Paris) until 2015.
With a careful insight into the selected material from the collection of the Museum of Exile, we see the vitality of the drawings as an interpretive process and its role and importance in the realization of various creative goals; those related to interior design, architecture design, design of industrial design products, visual information and illustration.
Among the authors represented in this book are Alphons Mucha, Norbert and Walter Neugebauer, Ismet Mujezinović, Pablo Picasso, Mersad Berber, Abdulah Kozić, Mirko Ilić, Zlatko Ugljen, Ismar Mujezinović, Mirsad Konstantinović, Aleksandra Nina Knezević and Omer Halilhodžić.
