LJUBOVIĆ Ibrahim
(Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, 1938 – Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, 1995)
He attended the School of Applied Arts in Sarajevo in 1960. He studied abroad in France, Switzerland and Italy.
Ljubović’s paintings are characterized by a sense of tranquility and restless loneliness. These characteristics manage to transform every motive into atmosphere, and it is through this that the painting overcomes the usual problems of structure. Within his paintings, time is surmised as a constant, slowed down or even frozen. In his artistic creation, he stayed true to this neo-surrealist world until the very end.
He presented his work at solo exhibitions since 1960, and his painting can be found in numerous museums, galleries and private collections.
