Ipolit Danilovič Majkovski

He completed the art school in Kiev in 1910. He worked as a theater painter in Moscow and Kiev. During World War I, he immigrated to Yugoslavia. He came to Herceg Novi in 1920 and then he left for Split, where he got the job of drawing teacher. From Croatia he went to Austria, where he lived from 1944 to 1951, and from there he went to Belgium. He painted marinas, portraits and still lifes. He had several solo exhibitions in Split (1922, 1927, 1930, 1937), and also exhibited at group exhibitions in Split, Sinj, Zagreb, Sarajevo, Ljubljana and Belgrade.
