Antun Mezdjić
He attended the Crafts School from 1919 to 1923, after which he worked as a house painter. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb from 1926 to 1931 under Vladimir Becić, Ljubo Babić and Tomislav Krizman, and continued improving his work in Paris 1933/34. He collaborated on painting of the church of St. Stasia in Dobrota and frescoes in the church of St. Marko in Zagreb. He did book layouts and illustrations. In the period 1946-71, he worked as a professor at the Zagreb Academy, and in 1972 he received the “Vladimir Nazor” Award for Lifetime Achievement. His retrospective exhibition was held in Zagreb in 1982.
