Risimović Boško

Boško Risimović

(Čačak, Serbia, 1926 – Beograd, Serbia, 1986)

He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1949. He briefly worked at the Art Department of the Home of Armed Forces in Belgrade, after which he moved to Sarajevo and began working at the School of Applied Arts. From 1953 he began to exhibit regularly at exhibitions organized by the Association of Visual Artists of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ULUBiH), and that same year he joined the group Samostalni, with whom he exhibited in Belgrade, Zagreb and Ljubljana.

His art creation, painting that is, gradually went through several stages: from the nostalgia-inspired homeland motif, across questions revolving around the problems of light and shadow, color and stylization, to a poetic, almost universal, painting.

In addition to painting he worked on film set design and illustrations for various newspapers, magazines, journals and books. He also wrote poetry and texts about art.

From 1975 he worked as a teacher at the Department of drawing and painting at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade.
