Roy Lichtenstein (1923-1997) studied at Ohio State University in Columbus, USA between 1946 and 1950. He continued his studies at Arts Student League in New York. From 1951. to 1957. he worked as a drafter and it was then that he began painting abstract-expressionist paintings. In 1960. he became the assistant at the New State University of New York. From 1961, he produced comic books and animation films based on various scripts, using the Benday dots. Together with Andy Warhol, he was the greatest representative of American pop art.⁠
