Tišov Ivan


Ivan Tišov

(Vinkovci kraj Đakova, 1870 – Zagreb, Hrvatska, 1928)

He began his artistic education at the School of Crafts in Zagreb, and continued at the School of Applied Arts in Vienna (1883–1893), at the Academy of Arts in Munich (1893–1894) and at the Julian Academy in Paris (1913–1914). From 1905 he taught as a professor at the School of Crafts in Zagreb. He painted allegorical, mythological and historical themes, portraits of his contemporaries, prominent people and friends. Among the portraits, female portraits stand out. He was also an illustrator.
