Mars (Maurice Bonvoisin)
(Verviers, Belgium, 1849 – Monte Carlo, Monaco, 1912)
Draftsman, illustrator, watercolorist and etcher. Studied art in Liège and in Lille. He lived in Paris. His caricatures were published in satirical and illustrated magazines. He also specialized in social events and Parisian life, illustrating what was then called “the season”. He also enjoys great notoriety in Great Britain, where he was a regular contributor to newspaper and magazines. His illustrations were published in “Nada” and luxury edition of “Bosnien und Herzegovina im Wort und Bild” (Bosnia and Herzegovina in word and picture).
