He studied graphic arts in Prague (1916-17). Upon his return to Zagreb, he opened a first private painting school. During his stay in Paris (1925 &#8211; 33), he worked in the studio of Andr\u00e9 Lhote (1926-27). His work was influenced by his stay in various cultural centers (Germany, Czechoslovakia, Italy, Spain, France, Sweden, Yugoslavia). He has received many prizes and awards. Member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU) and associate member of the Yugoslav Academy of Sciences and Arts (JAZU).
