He studied painting at the Academy in Budapest (1909 – 11) and spent two years in Paris (1912 – 14) during his study visit. After returning he lived and worked in P\u00e9cs and Budapest, where he painted C\u00e9zannesque still lifes. In 1914 he wrote for the Alf\u00f6ld magazine\u00a0 about the connection of C\u00e9zanneism <\/em>to the Renaissance tradition, and in 1915 he made compositions of larger format treating mythological and other motifs. He worked at the free art school in Budapest (1917\/18). He was also the head of the P\u00e9cs Arts Society.
