In 1932 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb under Marino Tartaglia. He taught drawing in Zagreb (1932 &#8211; 36, 1945 &#8211; 66), Vinkovci (1940), \u010cakovec (1940), Nova Gradi\u0161ka (1940 &#8211; 45). In later years, he painted copies of works by old masters such as Vel\u00e1zquez, El Greco, Delacroix and Corot. After retiring in 1966 he lived in Privlaka near Vinkovci.
