He worked as set designer at the Croatian National Theater in Zagreb. Trep\u0161e exhibited at all exhibitions of Proljetni Salon (Spring Salon) (1919-28). He was an excellent draftsman, caricaturist, and graphic artist, and his etchings, lithographs and woodcuts stood out. He made book illustrations and layouts. He is the author of a large number of set designs for operas, operettas, ballet and theater performances.
