He left for Prague in 1918, where he continued his studies. He specialized in fresco-painting in Paris in 1928 (under Marcel Lenoir). A painter, draftsman and caricaturist, he painted the motifs of his native Zagorje, life of peasants, portraits, and still lifes. Re\u017eek worked as a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb (1947 &#8211; 1968). He illustrated books.
