He <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">studied<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> in Prague, Munich and Paris. He was the last Czech Impressionist, a student of Antun A<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u017e<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">ba School in Munich. He mainly painted landscapes, portraits and still lifes. He returned to <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Prague<\/span><\/span> <span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">in 1911 and has since traveled through Slavic countries again. He traveled <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">to Slovakia, <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Russia and the Balkans.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"de-DE\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica Neue, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">He <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">drew some of <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">the most picturesque and beautiful <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">records <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. He was a passionate ethnographer and musicologist who wrote over 4,000 songs of Slavic peoples. For his professional work in the field of ethnology, he received the title of Doctor of Science in 1936 at Charles University in Prague<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">. He <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">was a member of the Czech Academy and a member of Yugoslav Academy of Sciences and Arts in Zagreb (Kingdom of Yugoslavia).
