In Sarajevo he was an associate of the <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">literary and arts magazine<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> \u201cNada\u201d (1895-1903) and a member of the Sarajevo Painting Club. <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">He taught drawing at the Gymnasium in Tuzla in the period 1905<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u20131911. <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">He painted landscapes in a stylistic range from plein air to Art Nouveau.<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> He excelled <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">at drawing portraits with prominent characterization, but he was more of an illustrator than a painter.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ewald Arndt\u00a0\u010ceplin (Zschepplin) (Merseburg, Germany, 1865 \u2013 ?)
