The exhibition Atelier at number 19<\/em> will be opened on September 12 at 8 pm in the National Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The exhibition will present works of four Bosnian-Herzegovinian prominent artists – Mario Mikuli\u0107<\/a>, Ismet Mujezinovi\u0107<\/a>, Roman Petrovi\u0107<\/a><\/span> and Todor \u0160vraki\u0107<\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

How many times did the citizens of Sarajevo, its visitors and tourists pass through the one of the main streets of this city – Ferhadija for a leisurely walk, window shopping or in the haste of the daily life, without looking up at the towers with large windows on one of the buildings, the one at number 19, and wondering what used to be there.<\/span><\/p>\n

Few people know that on the top floor of this building in Ferhadija Street, four important and prominent Bosnian-Herzegovinian artists of worked and created in one studio. Todor \u0160vraki\u0107 was the first to stay there until 1929, then Roman Petrovi\u0107, Ismet Mujezinovi\u0107 for a couple of years, and Mario Mikuli\u0107 for over forty years, from 1949 until his death in 1991.<\/span><\/p>\n

The son of Mario Mikuli\u0107 started the initiative and project so that this important information does not remain forgotten and unmarked, and in cooperation with the Municipality of Stari Grad and its mayor Ibrahim Had\u017eibajri\u0107, he installed and unveiled a memorial plaque at Ferhadija 19, in May of this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

These four artists left a big mark in Bosnian-Herzegovinian art, in the city of Sarajevo itself, and even beyond Bosnia and Herzegovina, and their existence, their daily work in this space and their creativity deserve to be marked at least in this way.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
