Following a solo exhibition in Prijedor (1910), he spent some time in Vienna, and then opened a\u00a0private painting school in Sarajevo (1911), first of this kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the Serbian-Bulgarian War (1913), he painted liberated areas in Southern\u00a0Serbia. After the outbreak of World War 1, he was imprisoned\u00a0in Arad (1914\/15). He worked as a drawing teacher in Tuzla and\u00a0Sarajevo.
