We are pleased to announce the opening of the <\/span>photography exhibition 1993<\/em> by Zoran Filipovi\u0107. The opening will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at 7 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n

Photo exhibition 1993<\/em> is a continuation of the previous successful photo exhibition and monographic book of the same name 1991<\/em> by Zoran Filipovi\u0107. The new exhibition in a brutally poetic way follows the life of the inhabitants of war-torn Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the cities: Mostar, \u010capljina, Stolac, the hometown of Zoran Filipovi\u0107 – Br\u010dko, Grada\u010dac, Tuzla, besieged Sarajevo… Some of these photographs, which will be exhibited for the first time, became symbols of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, through numerous international media with which the author collaborated, and his agency at the time, the famous MAGNUM Photos (Paris, London, New York, Tokyo), symbols of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.<\/span><\/p>\n

Biography<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Professional photographer and writer, born in 1959 in Br\u010dko (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Zoran Filipovi\u0107 has lived in Zagreb since 1978 where, in the last few years, he\u2019s been turning more\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

and more towards graphic and product design.\u00a0As photographer, he has worked and seen his work published in a number of distinguished world magazines, such as\u00a0Paris Match, Life, Photo, Le Figaro Magazine, Die Zeit, Frankfurter Allgemeine Magazin, Vogue\/GQ<\/em>\u00a0and others. The wider photographic world knows him under the pseudonym ZORO, which he used during his cooperation with the reputed agency Magnum Photos.\u00a0Many of his photographs created during the war in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina (1991-1995) became world famous, becoming true icons of photographic war coverage.\u00a0His photographic, literary and design work has earned him several awards, mostly abroad.\u00a0He has exhibited in the world\u2019s most notable galleries and museums, in metropolis such as New York, Frankfurt, Prague, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Vienna, Bratislava, Valencia, Abu Dhabi, Cairo, Teheran, Mexico City, but also Sarajevo and Zagreb. \u00a0As author, he has published sixteen books so far, both at home and abroad, successfully combining his photographic and literary skills. He also co-authored a number of group books. In addition to Croatia, his books have been published in Austria, Germany, France, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.\u00a0He and his work have also been the subject of several documentaries, all made abroad.<\/span><\/p>\n
