The National Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina presents the solo exhibition Soul in Reminiscence<\/strong> by Denis Hara\u010di\u0107<\/strong>, opening on January 8 <\/strong>at 7:00 pm<\/strong>. The exhibition offers an artistic reflection on the contemporary world through themes of exposure, vulnerability, and the process of healing, and is accompanied by a foreword written by art historian Elma Hod\u017ei\u0107<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe exhibition Soul in Reminiscence by Denis Hara\u010di\u0107 exposes human beings and the world as fundamentally exposed states of life. The exposure of the body to toxins, social pressures, and historical traumas; the exposure of the spirit to fear, desire, and loss; the exposure of the world to humankind, which incessantly transforms it. This exhibition unfolds as a multilayered visual and conceptual map of the malignant \u2014 not as an exclusively medical or biological term, but as a broader principle permeating contemporary society, its economic, political, and psychological structures, as well as the intimate spaces of human existence. The artist does not approach the contemporary moment as a conceptual analyst, but as a witness and participant \u2014 someone who does not observe malignancy from a distance, but recognizes it within his own experience, body, and spirit. It is precisely this position that lends the exhibition its particular gravity: Soul in Reminiscence is not only a diagnosis, but also a process \u2014 an attempt at healing, understanding, and re-establishing balance.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\n

How do we survive in a world in which the malignant exists in society, nature, and within ourselves? How can we find a balance between confronting fear and healing? And finally, can art truly act as a remedy \u2014 in what dosage, through which therapy? Soul in Reminiscence is not an exhibition that offers simple answers. Denis Hara\u010di\u0107 reminds us of one of the fundamental roles of art: to recognize the cracks in the time we live in and, at least for a moment, to offer a space for reflection, empathy, and the possibility of change. At the core of the exhibition lies the process of healing \u2014 personal, collective, and spiritual. It is time to expose ourselves.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Biography<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Denis Hara\u010di\u0107<\/strong> is a visual artist living and working in Sarajevo. He was born in 1991 in Travnik and completed his MA studies in 2018 at the Department of Printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Sarajevo, where he studied under the mentorship of Professor Amela Had\u017eimejli\u0107<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Through his psychological portraits, Hara\u010di\u0107 addresses universal themes, engaging with social ideas through the lenses of collective and individual identity, always in search of humanistic statements where they seem least present. He works across the media of drawing, painting, printmaking, as well as digital art, animation, and sound installations. In his distinctive approach to painting, he combines graphic inks, offset printing techniques, and mischweiss<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hara\u010di\u0107\u2019s work has received wide recognition and has been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including biennials and triennials of fine arts in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region, and internationally. His works are held in several international collections, notably the Museum of Now<\/strong> in Berlin and the Contemporary Bosnia<\/strong> collection in New York. He is the recipient of eight awards and recognitions in the field of fine arts, the most significant being the Collegium Artisticum Award for Printmaking<\/strong>, awarded by the Association of Fine Artists of Bosnia and Herzegovina in January 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n

From January 2021 to November 2022, Hara\u010di\u0107 was listed among the distinguished independent artists of Canton Sarajevo. He is currently employed at the Department of Printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Sarajevo.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
