ĆOROVIĆ Milorad

(Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, 1932 – Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2010)

Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1959.

The painter known for his stylized mountain scenery, sovereign gestures, lines and structures, stands out among his contemporaries. His landscapes are close to sculpting; they are not trying to present a specific place in nature, but its overall power and temperament.

He was awarded the Sixth of April Award of the city of Sarajevo.

He was a longtime member of the Association of Visual Artists of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ULUBiH). He worked as a professor and as the dean of the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo. Since 1995 he was also the dean of the Academy of Fine Arts in Trebinje. He was a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Republika Srpska.
