Arndt Leo


Leo Arndt

(1857, Eilenburg, Germany – 1945, Berlin, Germany)

After attending the Leipzig Art Academy and the colleges of fine arts in Berlin and Karlsruhe, Leo Arndt worked as a freelance illustrator and etcher. Numerous of his etchings, drawings and genre paintings were exhibited in German museums. During his time in Sarajevo around 1900, he founded a painters’ club with, among others, the painters Maximilian Liebenwein and Johanna Kobilca and his brother, the painter Ewald Arndt.
