Past is Now – FOTODOKS


Past is now is the exhibition of the contemporary documentary photography which was available for one month to the visitors in National Gallery of BiH in Sarajevo. One of the organizers, Armin Smajlović says that photographers from Germany and countries of former Yugoslavia exhibited 163 works which reflected certain historical moment. Artist Vladimir Miladinović from Beograd is one of the authors whose works were presented in this exhibition. He deals with archival research of daily press and war period of nineties, in this exhibition he presented a part of this series. He says that in his work he tries to draw out to the surface the things which were “repressed or forgotten and / or that are now not being talked about enough.” The exhibition “Past is Now” is part of the Balkan Photo Festival. It was shown last year in the City Museum in Munich, and with the support of the Goethe Institute in the region of Southeast Europe, in the form of a traveling exhibition it will be shown in other countries of the former Yugoslavia. After Sarajevo, the exhibition will be set up in Zenica, Trebinje, Cetinje, Ljubljana, Zagreb, Belgrade and Pristina ….
